SEASON 2 BEGINS SOON!

It has been a while since we posted anything new on the VIPERS site, but as we get ready to start our second season, it was time to announce some updates. We will be updating our website shortly with some changes to our roster and to announce our 2011 season tournament schedule. Our first season taught all of us (including the coaches) a lot about travel ball and we look forward to implementing some changes that will make us a better team going forward. I wouldn't trade our experiences from last season for anything!

Let me say thank you to the parents of our players from last season. You were very patient with us through some growing pains and the coaching staff very much appreciates that! A couple of players will not be returning for our next season and we with them the very best!

We are going to host an open tryout at 2:00 on Saturday, November 6th at Pugh Bourne Park at Oakfield. We are now an 11U team so any player whose 11th birthday is before May 1st can try out for the team. The coaches can be contacted via our e-mails listed in the "Contact Us" section of our website for more details or questions.

Be sure and check back for updates to our site and roster and get ready for another season of VIPER BASEBALL!

Well, the VIPERS have officially finished our first tournament and I have to say that we all learned a lot in the process. Unfortunately we went 0-3 but that is not totally unexpected for a brand new team. We played a couple of very tough teams from out of state that were not only good baseball teams, but also showed a lot of character in their wins. We also played a good local team that we look forward to facing many times in the future. I was very proud of our boys for their effort and for keeping their heads up when things were not going so great! We will now regroup and work hard on the things that hurt us before we play in our next tournament starting on April 16th. This will be a continual learning process and I had a great time throughout the tournament. I hope the boys enjoyed it as much as I did and that they will look forward to our next tournament. It will be here before we know it!
